The JCRPA strongly encourages education at all stages of life. We work with public and private schools, Scouts, adult groups, and more to ensure everyone has access to nature education opportunities. If you or your group are interested in visiting the Reservoir for your own program, or would like us to facilitate one, please contact us directly.
Periodically we may offer public educational programs or tours, as well.
If there is something you would like to learn about and see us host for a program, please let us know!
The JCRPA works with two different school groups to serve as an outdoor classroom during our seasonal hours:
The Reservoir has been the incubator for nationally award winning environmental STEM team projects and yearly hosts for day through the NJ Audubon. Project Reservoir, a program started by teachers and students at neighboring P.S. 28, is the longest running educational program utilizing Reservoir #3.
The Scandinavian School of Jersey City is a local pioneer of the growing forest school trend in the United States, long established in Scandinavia. The Forest Kindergarten at SSJC brings students outdoors to various natural areas in Jersey City to engage them with the environment.
